So I was reading one of the many magazines my mom gives me and I found something interesting. Natural beauty secrets or remedies. Cool right, most of this stuff we have in our kitchen already.
Facial scrub-
4 tsp of baking soda + 1 Tbsp water
let it sit for 2 minutes then apply it in circular motions to your moistened face (avoid your eye area) and neck. After 3 minutes rinse clean with warm water and then follow up with a splash of cold water to close your pores. Finish with a dollop of your regular daily moisturizer.
Dry-sensitive skin should only use this mask about every other week
Normal-oily skin can repeat the process weekly
Apparently baking soda buffs away dead skin cells and is gentle enough for all skin types It also helps keep breakouts in check.
Dry Patches-
Slice a lemon in half then rub the cut side over your elbows, heels or knees for a few seconds then rinse. You will see results right way.
Dimple Fighting Scrub-
2 Tbsp used coffee grounds (not decaffeinated) + 4 tsp olive oil
Combine to make a paste then apply generously in an upward motion over any cellulite-prone areas. Massage in for 2 minutes then rinse off. You will have a slight brownish tint to your skin while using the scrub and the tub will be slippery so be careful.
They say that coffee grounds can make your skin smoother and target cellulite. It acts like a mild diuretic when we drink it. When we use it in a scrub it will draw water out of our fat cells, shrinking them so they are less noticeable.
You can use the scrub 1 to 2 times a week in the shower.
Can I say stock up on the coffee, uh yes.
Fighting Pimples-
Pulsing a small handful of peppermint leaves in a food processor with 1 tsp of lemon juice. Cover the blemish for 15 minutes then rinse. Repeat twice a day until the spot is gone.
Peppermint leaves contains menthol and menthone, compounds that reduce redness and inflammation. It also acts as an astringent clearing away the oil that causes pimples. The lemon juice temporarlily changes the pH of your skin preventing bacteria growth.
Yellow Nails-
Fill a small bowl with ginger ale and submerge your nails for 10 minutes twice a week.
This soda acts as preservatives or emulsifiers, and witll naturally bleach your nails.
Dark Circles Eye Mask-
1 small handful of fresh parsley + 2 Tbsp plain yogurt
Place parsley and yogurt into a food processor and pulse until a smooth paste is formed. Apply the mixture generously to your undereye area. Let sit for 20 minutes before rinsing off with lukewarm water.
These items have a cooling effect on skin when mixed together. Parsley is rich in vitamin K, that when applied topically reduces blood flow to the eye area.
Apply once a week
They may say I'm average but I say I perfect cause this is were God wants me to be. So don't be afraid to be yourself gals cause being us is awesome!!!!!!
