Lets do some washing.

OK so I am on Pinterst and I love it.  I have found so many ideas, recipes and home improvements I don't know where to start.  So for all of you that have not discovered it I think you might like this.  I have 3 very active kids so when I found a laundry detergent recipe I was super excited and decided that I could do that.  So I did, I bought everything it cost me about $30 dollars.  Yes that is a lot but I usually spend about $11 on All free and clear, $7 on Downy and 4 on oxi clean each month.  Thats $22 a month.  This recipe makes so much, the pin I got it off of said it last b/w 6-9 months.  Really yes really, I have used it for 1 month now and I have not even made a dent in my stock.  I say score.

So here is what you need:
1 4 lb 12 oz box Borax
1 4 lb box Arm & Hammer Baking Soda
1 box Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda 55 oz
2 bars of Fels-Naptha or zote soap
2 small containers of Oxy Clean
1-2 bottles of Purex crystals softener-not pictured

I got a circle laundry basket & lined it with a trash bag, all done in the kitchen but maybe next time I will do it outside.  Grate the soap until it's all gone, it looks like cheese.  I mixed it all up a little at a time then put my hand in and really combined it.

After it was all done it looked like this-pretty huh?

I use the small oxi clean scoop. I only use 1 sometimes 2 scoops if stuff is real dirty.  As you can see it's almost half empty that is only after 1 month.  I have lots left.

This is how much I made, a cake holder and a medium size oxi clean container.

So I feel that this works real well.  All my stains have come out, it doesn't suds up at all.  I have a HE front loader and still put it in the dispenser and it all rinses out.  The clothes have a slight fragrance to them, and my towels seem to be fluffier.  My kids all have sensitive skin and it doesn't bother them.  Oh did I mention we have a well and very very hard water.  Over all I think it is great and I would highly recommend it.

They may say I'm average but I say I perfect cause this is were God wants me to be. So don't be afraid to be yourself gals cause being us is awesome!!!!!!

Just the beginning

So have you ever read a magazine or watched a show and loved what they were talking about?  You felt so inspired to go out and do the remodel or recipe right then.   Whether it was yummy food, decorating, awesome clothes, gardening or whatever caught your eye.  Then your jaw dropped as you turned the page or heard them say how much it cost to do or buy the items you drooled over.  I simply say sickening.  I know I feel defeated already and haven't even put on my shoes yet.  It is discouraging for a mom like me to see something that I know would be beautiful in my house, look good on my kid, be a great remodel or a wonderful vacation.  Then to know it is so far out of my reach makes me feel depressed and mad.  That they suggested it and make me drool, but not offer several outcomes on different budgets.  So for all you gals like me, we are what the world calls average.  This blog is for us.  I want to show how to do all those cool ideas that we like but never thought we could accomplish.  So send me your ideas, questions, tips, and things that that worked for you.  They may say I'm average but I say I perfect cause this is were God wants me to be.  So don't be afraid to be yourself gals cause being us is awesome!!!!!!
